The project consisted of the Installation, Termination and Testing of High Voltage Cables at Condabri Central (20km south of Miles) and Reedy Creek (130km west of Miles).
When completed the project was set to provide work for up to 70 people and use local suppliers where applicable to support local industries. This project built on Klenner Murphy’s existing relationship with Laing O’Rourke and its abilities.
The scope of works included:
- Installation of High Voltage Cables
- Jointing of High Voltage Cables
- Termination of High Voltage Cables
- VLF Testing of High Voltage Cables
- Installation of Fibre Optic Cables
- Termination of Fibre Optic Cables
- Testing of Fibre Optic Cables
Key challenges on the project included:
- Tight program schedule – it was vital to ensure end-dates were maintained so the project was delivered on time for the client.
- Remote location– the remote location of the site meant there was limited telephone communication and town water at Condabri Central and Reedy Creek – it was a fully contained site.
