This was done in two parts, a Base Build which was delivered by Watpac Specialty Services and then the Fit Out which was delivered by Built.
The $0.5m Base Build element included the following:
- Relocation and demolition of existing Electrical, Communications, Fire and Security Services.
- New underground pits and conduits and the refurbishment of existing ones.
- New lighting and power to the undercover Valet & Parking areas.
- Installation of new main Electrical and Communications cables for the Fit Out works.
The $1.4m Virgin Australia Tier 1 Lounge Fit Out followed on from the Base Build and was the combination of a new tenancy and the refurbishment of the existing lounge. The works were completed in 5 stages to ensure that the busy lounge environment was able to keep operating. Various stages ran concurrently.
The services provided by KME included:
- New Communications Room
- WiFi internet throughout
- New LV Switch Room and multiple sub-boards
- Dry Fire and EWIS throughout
- Access Control & CCTV throughout
- PA & AV
- Architectural LED lighting with C-Bus DALI touch control
- General power and Smart Metering
- New kitchen and catering services
- Motorised blinds
The completed package handed over on time in September 2015.
